This workshop is designed to get beginners up and running quickly with the GreenSock Animation Platform. I’ll show you how to bring your web pages and artwork to life with code. Along the way we’ll look at some amazing websites and demos that show the vast majority of ways GSAP is being used.
GSAP 3 was released in November 2019. Not only does it make familiar tools like TweenMax and TimelineMax obsolete, it introduces a streamlined API with over 50 new features. I’ve been building learning resources since the private beta (summer 2019) and have a mountain of demos to share with your team.
Duration
Each workshop is 3 hours. I will perform live coding demos and talk through real world examples for roughly 2 hours. The remaining time will be used for hands-on work, Q-n-A session, and hopefully a 10 minute break;)
Facilities and Resources
You provide the students, conference room, and a high definition display (projector or large monitor). Once I plug in we’ll be ready to roll. I’ll provide project files and plenty of resources for continued learning.
Cost
Each workshop costs $500 for companies in New York City or on Long Island. I’m happy to travel within the continental US (travel expenses TBD).

I spent nearly 7 years as Geek Ambassador at GreenSock creating their official training materials, YouTube videos (over 900k views), and interactive demos that are all over greensock.com.
Having spent years as a moderator in their support forums (amassing over 9,000 posts), I have quite a bit of experience teaching people how to animate with code and avoid common beginner mistakes.
With that position behind me and a totally new API introduced with GSAP 3, I am in a unique position to bring my years of experience to your team. I’ve been doing classroom and onsite training since 2004 and love showing people how to make things move with code.
Although the examples shown in the GSAP Showreel above are mostly created by the world’s top developers, the beauty of GSAP is that you can achieve so much with just a little code. You don’t need 5 years of JavaScript experience under your belt or a computer science degree.
Tons of designers have actually started their programming journey with GreenSock, as the core of the API is just a matter of using small snippets of code to tell something to move somewhere for some amount of time. Once you know how to animate one thing, it’s not a big leap to animate many things.
I could easily dig up a bunch of examples with scary amounts of unreadable code and say “Look what you could possibly do someday!”, but I prefer to focus on what’s practical and attainable.
