This movie requires Flash Player 9

Here is a little overview of a really powerful and fun companion tool that ships with the GreenSock platform. The Plugin Explorer allows you to get a real-time demonstration of the plugins you want to use and generates all the necessary code. We will discuss how to navigate the Plugin Explorer and some of the pitfalls beginners have with Plugin Activation when using TweenLite. Using this tool properly will really speed up your workflow and allow you to give your projects that extra punch!

Sample TweenLite Plugin Usage

import com.greensock.*;
import com.greensock.plugins.*;

//plugin activation necessary with TweenLite. TweenMax activates most plugins automatically.
TweenPlugin.activate([DropShadowFilterPlugin]);

TweenLite.to(dropShadow_mc, 2, {dropShadowFilter:{color:0x000000, alpha:1, blurX:6, blurY:6, distance:4}});

If you haven’t gotten your hands on TweenLite/Max yet, what are you waiting for? The Plugin Explorer is so much fun just to toy with.
Experiment with the Online Plugin Explorer

Still not convinced?

Take a look at the Offical Adobe Documentation on Applying a DropShadow Filter with AS3. That code doesn’t even address animating a filter! I wouldn’t touch that mess with a ten foot pole.

Take Action

I’m really getting for prime-time with Snorkl.tv. If you like what you see, lend a hand and spread on your favorite social networks!
